Morris Material Handling Limited, the UK's leading manufacturer of cranes and hoists continues its successful performance in the power industry with a recent order from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The order awarded by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki, Japan was for five electric overhead, double girder cranes and a selection of hoists for Elbistan B Thermal Power Plant based in Turkey.

Two of the cranes ordered, a thirty-five tonne crane and a sixty-five tonne crane, have recently been commissioned. Both of these are designed to be utilised in the manufacture and maintenance of power station turbine equipment and incorporate dual operated hoists. The other three, an eighty tonne crane and two ten tonne cranes are scheduled to be commissioned in 2003.

The cranes were designed and manufactured at Morris Loughborough based manufacturing headquarters in the UK. Clearly such a project may encounter logistical problems, however Morris' engineers have many years of experience of successfully commissioning cranes designed and manufactured in the UK for companies worldwide. The success of this project in meeting the customer's exact requirements is no exception.

Following the commissioning of the first two cranes Mitsubishi awarded Morris with another order for twenty-five of Morris' 400 series electric wire rope hoists and sixty three of their chain blocks.
