End Carriages and Long Travel Drive Units

Technical Resume:  
Each end carriage are fabricated from rolled steel to produce a stiff box section. Wheel box housings are accurately jig assembled at the end of each end carriage. Four heavy duty double flanged tramwheels assemblies supported on a live axle are bolted into each end carriage. A shaft mounted gearbox is keyed onto the tramwheel axle either side of the crane bridge. For specially designed 5-500 series cranes with linked bogies our design incorporates one gearbox/motor fitted to each end carriage. Smooth starting torque, normally ventilated squirrel cage motors provide smooth drive through helical reduction gear boxes fitted with resilient torque mountings.
